Hin Muang (Purple
Rock) and Hin Daeng (Red Rock)
The major reason that diving has become popular in Trang are the
two pinnacles of Hin Muang (purple rock) and Hin Daeng (red rock).
These two remarkable sites offer everything that a diver could want.
Both sites have been listed many times among the top ten dive sites
in the world. They are situated about 30 nautical miles off Koh
Lanta, approximately 25 kilometers Southwest of Ko Rok and only
45 kilometers from our resort. With our Speedboat, they are a 45
minutes ride west of Libong Island. These amazing dive and snorkelling
sites are only 500 metres apart. That fact combined with their diverse
and abundant marine life, means that you are sure not to be disappointed.
Here the soft coral becomes more lush and tall. Other marine life
to see are the great barracuda, schools of large tuna, lobster and
shrimp, giant moray eels, leopard sharks, bull sharks, silver tip
sharks, reef sharks and whale sharks, the largest fish in the ocean.
Carpets of octopuses and anemones cover the shallower sections of
the pinnacles.
Koh Ha
Koh Ha is a small group of islands almost directly west of Koh Libong.
These tiny islands, separated by channels over 50 meters deep, jut
straight out of the Andaman Sea. However, unlike Ko Phi Phi, the
water here is ordinarily quite clear and visibility frequently exceeds
25 meters. The highlight of diving here is a series of caves, or
caverns on the largest of the islands, Ko Ha Yai. The caves are
safe to enter, even without a light, as the entrances are large
and there is only one way in and one way out. The best part of entering
these caves is that you can surface inside the island to view stalactites
hanging down from the ceiling over 30 meters above the surface.
The quality of light filtering through the water from the entrance
is magical
Koh Rok

| Koh Rok, about 25 kilometers west of Koh Libong,
half way between Koh Libong and Hin Muang Hin Daeng, are two
sister-islands separated by a narrow channel about 15 meters
deep. These islands, Nok and Nai (outside and inside) have some
of the prettiest beaches in Thailand and are completely devoid
of inhabitants. The islands are named for a small, furry mammal
called a Rok in Thai, and this animal, along with monitor lizards,
can be observed on-shore-with a little patience and a bit of
luck. The diving here is relatively shallow, with the best corals
and fish life living above 18 meters. The bottom is composed
of mostly hard corals, with small areas of soft corals at deeper
depths. Black tip sharks patrol the reef shallows and Hawks
bill turtles are sighted regularly. |
 |
 |
Koh
Ngai
There are plenty of colorful soft corals and a good diversity
of reef fish.
The best bit of this site is in the south. |
  |
Koh
Muk
The island is mostly high and majestic cliffs face the sea
to the west while a fishing village is to the east facing
themainland. The cliffs are homes to swallows.
More significant than the diving on offer , there is an interesting
adventure for snorkellers - assuming they feel brave enough
to navigate the winding cave/tunnel, 200 ft long, which has
been cut through the western rocky cliff. Known as Morakot
(Emerald Cave), this penetrates the mountain and eventually
emerges into a beautiful lagoon.

Koh
Kradan Wreck
The wreck is believed to be of a 200-230 ft. Japanese destroyer
sunk by air attack
in 1944. The way to find the wreck is to follow the many fish
that frequent what has
become an artificial reef. |
| |
|
 |
Koh Chuak
Waen are small islands between Ko Muk and Ko Kradan. They are
teeming with
shallow and deepwater corals and many types of fish. |
Koh Lao
Liang
Koh Lao Liang comprises two twin islands which are Koh Lao Liang
Nua and Koh Lao Liang Tai of limestone mountains encircled by high
clifts. The outstanding attractions are at Koh Lao Liang Tai having
the 200 m. long beach with some broken coral reef scattering around
the area. Behind the island is a cave which is the home of large
group of swallows. The sea around Koh Lao Liang has the most wonderful
and abundant coral reef of Trang Sea.
Koh Ta Kiang
Koh Ta Kiang is a small island with a lighthouse on the high mountain
at the heart of the island and a small sandy beach located behind.
Shallow water coral reef as well as colorful fish is found around
the island.
Koh Petra
The island is located at the farthest south of Trang Sea and the
largest of all these three islands (Koh Lao Liang, Koh Ta Kiang,
and Koh Petra). To visit Koh Petra is more strict than other two
islands. Koh Petra has white beach and beautiful colored sea including
the skin diving area in front of the beach
Koh Sukon
|
|
| |
 |
is the second largest island of
Trang Sea from Koh Libong. It is a sub district of Palian
Distric the island lying parallel the shoreline with the between
distance of only 3 km. The east of the island is the plain
where 4 villages are situated and most people are Muslim.
Their occupations are mainly fishery, agriculture (para rubber,
rice and watermelon). Koh Sukon's watermelon is very famous
for its sweet taste, red color and crisp, very delicious.

of sea turtles; the Leatherback, Hawksbill, Pacific Ridley and Green.

on Ko Tarutao, Ko Lipe and Ko Adang. The best choice of accommodation
is on Ko Lipe.

of Coral Beauty

Adang are imminent in the crystal clear waters around the island,
particularly when the sea is calm. The transparency of the water
often leads tourists to take a quick dip, mistaking it to be shallow.
Corals are bountiful in the waters around the island. Tourists diving
toadmire the breathtaking beauty of the corals may also witness
the enchantment of exotic fish such as stonefish ,lionfish, anemonefish,
lobster, or even friendly stingrays buried under the powdery white
sands, sea porcupines, and colorful sea shells scattering around
